Stephen Glassborrow

After more than forty years working predominantly in bronze, Stephen Glassborrow is developing a new body of sculpture in colour.

Colour has opened another way of expressing the ideas that have always been central to his work: the human figure, narrative, humour, and the tension between classical modelling and contemporary construction.

Each sculpture begins with the modelled form, then colour and surface become part of its character. These works are made in reinforced resin and finished individually as polychrome editions. Selected works remain available in bronze to order.

Stephen now wants to share this new direction with collectors and friends who have followed his work over the years. Stephen is happy to welcome you to his studio, or to discuss available works and commissions.
